Handmade Heritage

Handmade heritage at Others is about carrying forward techniques that have been practiced, refined, and passed down over generations — and shaping them into products that are relevant with consumers today.

Our artisans bring deep technical knowledge in weaving, woodwork, and textile craft. Our role is to pair that expertise with thoughtful design, creating pieces meant to be used, lived with, and appreciated over time.

Craft Rooted in Tradition

The techniques behind our products are learned over time and passed down through families and local craft traditions. These skills directly shape how our textiles are woven, how materials are handled, and how quality is maintained from one product to the next.

One example is Hamid, a master weaver who has worked with Others for more than 20 years. His son, pictured here, learned the craft from his father and now also works with Others—bringing generational knowledge into the textiles produced today. Through demand for these products, Others is part of keeping these handcraft traditions traditions alive.

Designed Together

Others products are designed to belong—in homes, in daily routines, across years of use. The aesthetic is rooted in Scandinavian design: functional, minimal, built around purpose and decoration.

The range reflects this. Neutral pieces that sit quietly in any home. And specific designs made to mark moments—gathering, gifting, and sharing meals.

Each piece is developed with both designers and artisans. The design follows what the craft does well.

Made with Natural Materials

Materials are chosen with intention — prioritizing natural, locally sourced fibers, natural dyes, and responsibly sourced wood where possible. These materials align with traditional craft techniques and support durability, repairability, and long-term use.

Material choice is part of the craft itself, influencing how products age, wear, and endure over time.

Made to Last

Every product is designed with longevity in mind. Construction methods, material selection, and finishing details reflect an emphasis on durability and function — creating goods meant to be used regularly, not replaced quickly.

This approach values quality over trend and longevity over disposability.
