Why Sustainability Matters

We prioritize natural materials sourced close to where products are made. We use craft techniques passed down through generations, designed for durability and repair rather than replacement. We build products meant to be kept, not discarded.

This approach supports responsible resource use, honors local ecosystems, and reduces waste through quality. Sustainability for Others means creating goods that hold value over time—for the people who make them, the people who use them, and the places they come from.

Materials

Locally Sourced Materials

Our products are made with natural and minimally process materials that include cotton, sisal, jute, leaf fiber, and wood. Many materials are sourced in the villages where our artisans live.

We use use two types of wood, Gamari and Albizia Saman. They are typically grown in yards and along roadsides. Families sell it when they need extra income. We purchase in small batches from local suppliers.

Local sourcing keeps transportation costs and environmental impact low.

Production

Minimal Waste, By Design

Traditional craft techniques—handloom weaving, basket weaving, wood carving—have been passed down through generations.

These methods use minimal energy, generate little waste, and require no industrial machinery. They were resource-efficient long before sustainability became a goal.

We're building out how we track and measure our environmental footprint—so we can be more precise about where we're doing well and where we can do better.
